Pat Boone, a prominent pop singer in the late 1950s and 1960s, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of music and a remarkable love story with his high school sweetheart, Shirley Boone, whom he was married to for 65 years. Despite Shirley’s passing, Pat cherishes their memories and the life they built together, residing in the home where they raised their family.

Their love story began in high school when Pat, a budding musician, met Shirley, daughter of country star Red Foley. Despite initial nerves, their connection blossomed, leading to a lifelong commitment. Pat fondly recalls asking Shirley’s father for her hand in marriage, a moment filled with emotion and love.

The couple eloped in 1953 and settled in New Jersey, raising four daughters while Pat pursued his music career. Despite the challenges of fame and temptation, they remained devoted to each other. Pat’s success in music, including hits like “You Light up My Life,” was buoyed by Shirley’s unwavering support.

Their marriage was rooted in faith, which they credited for its strength. Pat reflects on their journey, acknowledging the trials they faced but emphasizing the power of commitment and family.

In 2019, Shirley passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. Pat and their daughters honored her memory, celebrating her role as a loving mother and grandmother. Shirley’s legacy lives on through her family, which has grown over the years.

Pat’s life continues with his daughters and grandchildren, finding solace in their presence. He remains active in his career, releasing new music and engaging in his passions. Yet, his heart longs for the day when he can reunite with Shirley, believing their love will endure in eternity.
