In 2023, Williams received a devastating diagnosis of primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), conditions that affect language, behavior, and cognitive functions. Williams’ journey through turmoil is evident in her decisions and actions. During a tumultuous period in her marriage, she resided in a sober house to find solace amidst the impending scandal of her husband’s affair. The subsequent divorce led to the sale of their long-time New Jersey mansion, a luxurious property they shared for years.

Financial matters post-divorce were contentious, with agreements made and disputes arising later. Williams’ absence from her show, “The Wendy Williams Show,” due to health concerns, further complicated matters. Despite her previous success in television, financial strains became apparent, with ongoing obligations and reports of selling personal belongings to cover expenses.
