John Travolta, renowned actor of “Grease” and “Saturday Night Fever” fame, celebrated his 70th birthday recently. Despite hitting this milestone, Travolta remains active in his career, with ongoing film projects and notable public appearances.

One such appearance was at the 21st Annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards, where he paid tribute to Prince Harry. Travolta’s connection to the British royal family stems from his friendship with the late Princess Diana. At the event, he presented Harry with an award, reflecting their shared passion for aviation. Travolta, a seasoned pilot since his early twenties, shares this enthusiasm for flying with Harry, who spent years as a helicopter pilot in the British Army.

Travolta’s love for aviation has been a constant in his life, providing solace during difficult times. He once recounted a harrowing experience of surviving a total electrical failure in a corporate jet over Washington D.C., which made him appreciate life even more.

Throughout his illustrious career, Travolta has experienced both professional success and personal tragedy. One significant relationship in his life was with actress Diana Hyland, whom he met on the set of “The Boy in the Plastic Bubble.” Their love story was cut short by Hyland’s battle with breast cancer, a disease that also claimed the life of Travolta’s later wife, Kelly Preston.

In 2020, Travolta shared the heartbreaking news of Preston’s passing due to breast cancer, expressing gratitude for the support they received during her illness. He emphasized the importance of being there for his children during this difficult time.
