The captivating images depict a figure seemingly walking through the clouds, surrounded by a circular rainbow of light. This otherworldly occurrence happens when the low sun shines from behind someone gazing into mist from a higher ridge, projecting their shadow forward and creating the illusion of a figure in the clouds.
Rhys recounted the serendipity of the moment, stating, “There was only a 50/50 chance of seeing the sunrise because of the cloud, but me and my friend decided to go up anyway.” He arrived early, capturing the sunrise, and about an hour later, his friend joined, coinciding with the appearance of the Brocken spectre. Rhys acknowledges the perfect timing, emphasizing it was “just pure luck.”
Despite the element of chance, Rhys’ photos are undeniably stunning, making his New Year’s celebration a memorable and visually spectacular one. A fantastic way to welcome 2020 indeed! Share the article to spread the awe and extend New Year wishes to your loved ones.
