Meg Foster: The Actress with Piercing Blue Eyes
Born May 10, 1948, in Reading, Pennsylvania, Meg Foster grew up in Rowayton, Connecticut. She began her acting career at New York’s Neighborhood Playhouse, laying the groundwork for her future in film and television.
Foster’s career began with a 1969 role on “NET Playhouse” and included guest spots on popular shows like “Barnaby Jones” (1973), “The Six Million Dollar Man” (1974), and “Hawaii Five-O” (1968). In 1979, she gained recognition for her portrayal of Hester Prynne in the miniseries “The Scarlet Letter.”
Her big break came in 1982 when she briefly replaced Loretta Swit as Christine Cagney on “Cagney & Lacey.” Despite being replaced by Sharon Gless, this role highlighted her capability in leading roles.
In the late 1980s, Foster starred in “Masters of the Universe” (1987) as Evil-Lyn and “They Live” (1988). She continued her work in the 1990s with appearances on “Quantum Leap” (1989), “ER” (1994), and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” (1993), showcasing her versatility across genres.
