Houston resident Lee Carter, 52, faces aggravated kidnapping charges for allegedly imprisoning a woman in his garage for nearly five years. The victim, initially approached by Carter while pregnant and panhandling, accepted his offer of help. Once at his home on Perry Street, Carter drugged her with crack cocaine, rendering her physically incapacitated. Court documents reveal she “begged to leave,” but Carter confined her, subjecting her to years of sexual assault.
The disturbing case came to light in April 2023 when the victim managed to contact the police using Carter’s computer. Responding to the complaint, Houston police visited Carter’s residence on April 7, 2023. The woman recounted being held captive, assaulted, and drugged since her abduction four to five years prior. The harrowing situation unfolded as a result of an initial encounter where Carter seemingly offered assistance but turned into a nightmare of captivity and abuse for the victim.
