Legendary actor passed away in his Big Horn, Wyoming home

Doug Sheehan, best known for his role as Joe Kelly on General Hospital, died at 75. He passed away peacefully at home in Big Horn, Wyoming, with his wife Cate Abert by his side. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Sheehan’s career began in 1978 with Charlie’s Angels. He played Joe Kelly in General Hospital from 1979 to 1982, appearing in 205 episodes and earning a Daytime Emmy nomination. He later starred as Ben Gibson on Knots Landing from 1983 to 1988. Fans mourned his death on social media, with many expressing their sadness and sharing memories.

Born in Santa Monica in 1949, Sheehan also appeared in CluelessDay by DayCheersColumbo, and Diagnosis Murder. He is remembered for his amiable on-screen persona and significant contributions to television. He is survived by his wife, Cate Abert.
