Jennifer Lopez Criticized Over ‘This Is Me… Now’ Clip
Jennifer Lopez is facing backlash for a clip from her film “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” which serves as a multimedia companion for her album. In the clip, she reminisces about her youth, saying, “I like taking my hair out like this. It reminds me like, when I was 16 in The Bronx running up and down the block.”
The clip, posted by Prime Video and garnering 10.2 million views, received numerous critical remarks. One user joked, “I had no clue Jenny was from the Block.” Another jeered, “I think she would like the song ‘Jenny from the Block,’” referencing her 2002 hit.
Bronx Residents React
Some Bronx residents shared their reactions, often negative. One user said, “Real Bronxite here, straight from South Bronx. JLO, we did not run up and down the block looking like that. Even as a kid.” Another Bronx resident added, “We are sick of you. You don’t do s–t for us. Keep our names out of your mouth. We are not running up and down the block. You’re stupid.”
Response Videos and Criticism
Criticism continued on social media, with one user claiming, “This whole story of her trying to be more relatable and more normal is not really gonna work for you.” Another stated, “I saw your high school photo. You did not have hair like that and we also both attended an all-girls Catholic High School in an Irish and Italian neighborhood.”
Tour Cancellations
As The Post reported, Lopez canceled several tour dates without explanation. The “This is Me… Now” tour, her first in five years, had dates canceled in cities including Nashville, New Orleans, Raleigh, Atlanta, Houston, Cleveland, and Tampa. The film and album detail the rekindling of her romance with Ben Affleck and are available on Amazon Prime.
