Richard Gere’s Son Homer: Following in Dad’s Footsteps
Richard Gere, the iconic actor from “Pretty Woman” and “Primal Fear,” now embraces fatherhood, especially with his son Homer James Jigme Gere, whom he shares with Carey Lowell, his second ex-wife known for her roles in “Law & Order” and “Licence to Kill.”
Despite Richard’s initial reluctance for fatherhood during his marriage to Cindy Crawford, Homer arrived in February 2000, becoming the focus of Richard’s life. Describing Homer as “the joy of [his] life,” Richard shared his son’s qualities, saying, “[Homer] loves music, very fast runner, very smart. Very funny. Pretty quick, he learned irony, which is a wonderful quality for any human being.”

Privacy has been a priority for Homer, who made rare public appearances, notably accompanying his father at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy in 2014. Currently studying Cognitive Neuroscience and Visual Arts at Brown University, Homer maintains a low profile on social media.
Richard and Carey’s divorce in 2016 followed a four-year custody battle, eventually settling on shared custody of Homer. Homer embraced his role as a big brother when Richard married Alejandra Silva, a political activist, and welcomed two younger siblings, Alexander in 2019 and a second brother in 2020, whose name remains undisclosed.
While details about the younger Gere boys are scarce due to their parents’ secrecy, Homer continues to pursue his studies and remains close to both his mother and father, embodying the next generation of the Gere family.
