Staggering new Trump approval ratings show what the US really thinks of him with shock results from one state
Donald Trump’s presidential approval ratings have declined, according to two new polls released this week.
A recent Emerson College Polling survey shows that 45% of voters currently approve of Trump’s presidency, while 46% disapprove and 9% remain undecided. In January, his approval stood higher at 49%.
Criticism has mounted over several of Trump’s recent actions, including the controversial “Big Beautiful Bill” and his deployment of the National Guard during protests in Los Angeles regarding his immigration policies.
The Emerson poll also found that 53% of respondents believe the country is heading in the wrong direction, while 48% believe it’s on the right track. Spencer Kimball of Emerson noted that Democrats slightly lead Republicans in upcoming midterm voter intentions, although many independents are still undecided.
Another survey from the University of Texas and the Texas Politics Project shows Trump’s approval has dipped to 44%, with 51% disapproving. This decline is notable given Texas’ historically Republican leanings.
In the Texas poll, 51% disapproved of Trump’s economic handling and 52% were unhappy with his response to inflation, while support among Texas Republicans has slightly fallen from 89% in April to 87%.
These surveys were conducted before Trump intervened in the Iran-Israel conflict. He brokered a ceasefire after launching airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, which prompted retaliatory attacks on U.S. bases. At the NATO summit, Trump claimed Iran had warned the U.S. beforehand, allowing the military to intercept all incoming missiles.
