‘Sick’ Princess Diana post targeting Meghan Markle leaves people ‘disgusted’

Meghan Markle has faced backlash online after launching her new wine line as part of her lifestyle brand, As Ever. The Duchess of Sussex introduced a 2023 Napa Valley Rosé, describing it as light, fresh, and celebratory. A sparkling wine made using the Méthode Champenoise is also expected soon, along with more varietals.

While the launch attracted attention from both supporters and critics, one disturbing post on X (formerly Twitter) shocked many. The account “Meghan’s Mole,” known for targeting Meghan and her family, shared a photo of Meghan drinking wine next to an image of the car crash that killed Princess Diana.

The post attempted to draw a tasteless comparison between Meghan’s wine and the 1997 crash, implying that drinking her wine could mimic the experience of being in a tunnel like the one in Paris. This comment referenced the driver in Diana’s crash being allegedly intoxicated.

Users on Reddit were horrified. One described gasping in shock, while others urged people not to give attention to such hateful content. Some called for the account to be reported, although few expected any real consequences.

Many found the post deeply disturbing and inappropriate. One user criticized the account’s obsession with Meghan, calling it unhealthy and hateful.

Others called the post tasteless and cruel, highlighting the extreme negativity Meghan continues to face online. Some described the critics as having no lives of their own.

This follows recent scrutiny of Meghan’s “labour dance” video, which she addressed in a podcast, reminding listeners that real life continues behind the headlines.
