Russia responds after Trump threatened to ‘bomb the s*** out of Moscow’ in leaked audio tapes

Russia has responded strongly after reports emerged of Donald Trump allegedly threatening to bomb Moscow if Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine. The claim comes from newly surfaced audio of Trump speaking to donors during his 2024 campaign.

CNN reported that Trump, while addressing wealthy donors before reclaiming the presidency, described a tough stance toward Putin. He claimed to have told the Russian leader he would “bomb the sh*t out of Moscow” if Russia entered Ukraine. Trump added that Putin didn’t fully believe the threat—only about “10%.”

The former president reportedly made a similar warning to Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding Taiwan, saying Beijing would be bombed if an invasion occurred. These remarks, according to CNN, were recorded during fundraisers in New York and Florida and later published in the book 2024 by Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf.

However, the Kremlin swiftly rejected the validity of Trump’s claims. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied any such conversations took place, pointing out that the timeframe referred to was when Trump was not serving as president.

The controversy reignited as Trump, in a recent cabinet meeting, expressed frustration with Putin, condemning the ongoing war in Ukraine and its human toll. He criticized Putin’s duplicity, saying, “He’s very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless.”

Trump also mentioned plans to introduce additional sanctions on Russia and confirmed approval for more U.S. weapons shipments to Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy welcomed the support, emphasizing the urgency of aid to defend his nation.
