Queen Elizabeth’s sad reaction to Meghan Markle refusing to answer wedding question ‘revealed’ by royal expert

New claims suggest Queen Elizabeth II was quietly heartbroken by a moment leading up to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2018 wedding. Though the ceremony appeared perfect to the public, tensions reportedly ran high behind the scenes, particularly regarding the Queen’s involvement.

Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith shared that Queen Elizabeth felt sidelined during the wedding preparations. A close confidante, Lady Elizabeth Anson, revealed that the Queen was “really upset” by how little input she had and a specific interaction with Meghan.

The Queen allegedly tried to talk to Meghan about her wedding dress during a tea visit, but Meghan didn’t share any details. According to Lady Elizabeth, the Queen confided that she was saddened by the exchange and felt disrespected.

Although Lady Elizabeth initially found Meghan charming, she said Meghan and Harry made it clear they didn’t want her—despite being a royal-favored event planner—involved in the wedding.

Harry reportedly wrote to Lady Elizabeth to say they were “going another way” and assured her that the Queen was fine with it. However, the Queen allegedly told Lady Elizabeth that she was not content with the situation at all.

This revelation adds to ongoing discussions about Harry and Meghan’s rocky relationship with the Royal Family. Past claims have included a physical dispute between Harry and William.

Despite the tension, Harry has stated his desire to reconcile with his father, King Charles, and his brother William, and has recently made gestures to mend the rift.
