However, despite Kate’s presence, Prince William stole the spotlight on social media. His subdued reaction after King Charles’ speech left many viewers puzzled.

During his toast, King Charles highlighted the long-standing cultural and historical ties between the UK and France, referencing artists like Monet and athletes such as Thierry Henry, while recalling his family’s French roots.

Charles also praised Prince William, linking him to their shared lineage, as Windsor Castle was founded by William the Conqueror, noting how the current Prince of Wales has made Windsor his home.

Yet a video circulating online showed Prince William remaining seated and expressionless while everyone else stood and applauded the King’s speech. His reaction stood in stark contrast to the enthusiastic ovation around him.

The clip sparked widespread speculation on Reddit and Twitter, with many questioning William’s demeanor. Some noted the backlash would’ve been far more intense had it involved Prince Harry or Meghan Markle. Others commented on how visibly upset or disinterested William appeared, suggesting he wanted to be anywhere but there.
