Prince William’s major decision on Archie and Lilibet could ‘negatively’ impact multiple Royal Family members

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals in 2020, much attention has focused on their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The couple gave up their HRH titles and public funding, later relocating to California.

Following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing in 2022, King Charles III’s ascension granted Archie and Lilibet official prince and princess titles. However, recent developments suggest that Prince William may not support them retaining these titles.

A Guardian report states that Harry wants his children to keep their HRH titles, giving them the choice to take on royal duties later or remain private citizens. However, The Times claims royal insiders are skeptical about this under William’s future reign.

A spokesperson for Harry declined to comment, citing privacy regarding their children. Still, William’s apparent vision of a smaller monarchy could have wider implications.

This could affect royals like Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who have HRH titles but don’t perform royal duties. If William’s streamlined monarchy goes forward, they might lose their titles.

The issue is further complicated by delays in obtaining UK passports for Archie and Lilibet. Reports suggest Harry and Meghan requested that the HRH title be included, potentially allowing the children to decide their future roles themselves.

According to GB News, this passport request may have prompted William’s response, though no official statement has been made. Kensington Palace has not commented on the matter so far.
