This fallout has led people online to mock an old photo of Musk wearing a cap that read “Trump was right about everything,” saying it hasn’t aged well.

The feud appears to be fueled by Musk’s criticism of Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which includes tax cuts on Social Security, overtime, and tips. In response, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described Musk’s outburst as “unfortunate,” suggesting Musk was upset because the bill didn’t align with his business interests. She emphasized that Trump remains focused on pushing the legislation to improve the country, while acknowledging Musk’s right to express business-related opinions.
