Passenger on Air India flight hours before
A passenger who flew on the same Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner just hours before it crashed has claimed that several systems onboard were not functioning. Akash Vatsa, who traveled from Delhi to Ahmedabad, posted videos on social media showing broken air conditioning, unresponsive TV screens, call buttons, and cabin lighting. He said he was “sweating like hell” during the flight and shared his boarding pass as proof. The same aircraft, flight AI171, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad on June 12, hitting a medical college hostel. Of the 242 people on board, only one survived—British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh.
Ramesh, seated in 11A, described the moment the plane crashed, recalling that the lights flickered before the aircraft plunged into a building. He said it felt like the plane was “stuck in the air” moments after takeoff. Miraculously escaping through an exit he spotted, Ramesh said he walked out of the wreckage, having seen several passengers and crew die around him. Air India stated that the passengers included nationals from India, the UK, Portugal, and Canada. LADbible Group has contacted the airline for a response to the technical complaints raised by Vatsa.
