Mysterious object caught on radar above Washington DC has people ‘freaking out’ over terrifying theories

A strange streak spotted on radar above Washington DC recently caused panic and wild theories online, ranging from alien visits to government weather manipulation. Kari Lake, a special advisor to the US Agency for Global Media, noticed the anomaly while checking the weather during a severe storm and posted about it on social media. The green dart-like shape appeared around 3:30 p.m., just as the storm hit, prompting speculation from the public. Some suggested it was a laser beam feeding the storm, while others blamed extraterrestrial activity.

However, meteorologist and storm chaser Matthew Cappucci quickly debunked the theories. He explained that the streak was caused by radar interference from a communication tower near Dulles Airport’s Fire Station 304, which partially blocked the radar beam. These kinds of radar artifacts are common and can result from various obstructions like towers or atmospheric conditions. Cappucci emphasized that the strange radar blip was a known scientific occurrence, not a mystery. The radar beam likely bounced off both the storm and the tower, creating a misleading signal on the radar loop, putting the conspiracy theories to rest.
