Legendary actor Michael Madsen has died aged 67

Actor Michael Madsen, known for his iconic roles in Quentin Tarantino films, has passed away at the age of 67. His publicist, Liz Rodriguez, confirmed that he died of cardiac arrest after being found unresponsive at his Malibu home on Thursday.

Rodriguez, along with Madsen’s managers Susan Ferris and Ron Smith, released a joint statement expressing their sadness. They noted that Madsen had recently been working on several independent films, including Resurrection Road, Concessions, and Cookbook for Southern Housewives.

In addition to his film work, Madsen was preparing to publish a new poetry collection titled Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems, which was still in the editing process.

Madsen rose to fame through his long-standing collaboration with director Quentin Tarantino, starring in films such as Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill: Vol. 2, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Critics especially praised Madsen’s chilling performance in Reservoir Dogs, with film critic Roger Ebert comparing his menacing screen presence to a “very mean Robert De Niro.”

Beyond Tarantino’s work, Madsen appeared in films like Thelma and Louise, Free Willy, and Sin City. He also took on various TV roles and contributed his voice to popular video games, including the Grand Theft Auto and Dishonored franchises.

Tributes poured in from across the entertainment world. Director Joe Russo tweeted, “Michael Madsen ALWAYS had bite. RIP.” Authorities confirmed no foul play, with Madsen’s death being attributed to natural causes.
