Kate Middleton forced to make huge decision about Prince George’s future
As Prince George approaches his 12th birthday on July 22, Prince William and Kate Middleton are preparing for both summer holidays and an important decision about his education. George will enter his final year at Lambrook School in September.
Lambrook, where students can stay until age 13, charges over £8,000 per term. George’s upcoming graduation means his parents must soon choose his secondary school.
There’s been debate over whether George should follow Prince William to Eton College or his mother to Marlborough College. According to reports, Eton appears to be the likely choice due to its close proximity to the family’s Windsor home.
Although Marlborough was a consideration—especially since it accepts girls, potentially allowing Princess Charlotte to join later—George recently visited Eton, sparking excitement and speculation among students and parents.
An announcement from the palace is expected soon, with George likely starting at Eton in 2026. A source hinted that insiders at Eton already know the outcome, adding to the buzz.
Turning 12 also marks a shift in royal protocol for George. He and his siblings will no longer be permitted to fly together for safety reasons in case of a tragic event.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond noted that George is beginning to understand the weight of his future role, appearing more serious in public. Still, he shows his playful side at family events, football matches, and public outings, such as the recent VE Day anniversary celebration and Buckingham Palace tea party.
