Kate Middleton fans horrified after hearing claims about ‘Operation Reading Bridge’ plans

Kate Middleton’s recent return to Royal Marsden Hospital in London, where she previously received cancer treatment, has stirred fresh emotions among royal fans.

Earlier this year, the Princess of Wales shocked the public when she revealed, through a heartfelt video, that she had been undergoing chemotherapy following major abdominal surgery and a two-week hospital stay.

Her absence from public life had led to speculation, which was finally addressed when she announced her diagnosis. Fortunately, Kate has now finished chemotherapy and is recovering well.

However, during her illness, Buckingham Palace prepared for a worst-case scenario by drafting “Operation Reading Bridge,” a protocol in case of her passing. The name is believed to be a tribute from Prince William to Kate’s childhood hometown.

This revelation, found in a book by royal expert Bertrand Deckers, upset many fans, especially after it surfaced online through Reddit discussions. Some were shocked that such plans were considered, calling it “wtf” news.

Others defended the decision, explaining that preemptive planning is standard within the Royal Family and essential to avoid chaos during emotional times. Some even saw the gesture as thoughtful and practical.

Interestingly, on the very day this plan was reportedly created, Kate resumed her duties with a low-key engagement at Windsor Castle, attending an early childhood meeting while her children were on school break.
