Horrific details released as man dies at airport after being ‘sucked into plane engine’ before takeoff

A tragic incident occurred at Milan Bergamo Airport on the morning of July 8, where a 35-year-old man lost his life after being pulled into a plane’s engine.

Local reports indicate the man arrived at the airport in a car and somehow breached a restricted area, making his way onto the runway around 10 a.m. He was then sucked into the turbofan of a plane preparing for takeoff.

Authorities confirmed that the man was neither a passenger nor an airport employee expected to be near the aircraft at the time of the incident.

The plane involved was a Volotea Airbus A319, scheduled to fly to Asturias, Spain. The airport management company, Sacbo, said the event occurred on the taxiway and is currently under investigation by police.

Volotea issued a statement confirming that flight V73511 was involved in the incident and that the individual harmed was not affiliated with the airline. All 154 passengers and six crew members on board were unharmed.

Flight operations at Milan Bergamo Airport were halted until noon, with at least 19 flights delayed or diverted to other airports while emergency teams responded to the scene.

Authorities, including local police, firefighters, and scientific specialists, are working to determine how the man accessed the runway. Investigations are ongoing, with the focus on airport security failures that allowed this deadly breach.
