Donald Trump breaks silence on Elon Musk’s new ‘America Party’ with brutal statement
The rift between Donald Trump and Elon Musk continues to deepen, as the president has criticized Musk’s latest political ambitions. Once close allies during Musk’s time leading the Department of Government Efficiency, their relationship has now deteriorated.
Musk stepped away from politics to focus on his businesses, but not before alleging Trump was mentioned in unreleased Epstein documents—a claim he later apologized for. However, tensions have reignited over Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
The Tesla CEO is a vocal critic of the bill, arguing it could cost millions of American jobs. In retaliation, he vowed to campaign against its supporters and announced plans to form his own political movement, the “America Party,” aimed at disrupting the two-party system.
Trump, clearly unimpressed, responded by calling Musk’s third-party idea “ridiculous” and claimed third parties never succeed. While traveling from his New Jersey golf club, the president doubled down on social media, describing Musk as a “train wreck.”
He argued that third parties only bring “DISRUPTION & CHAOS” and blamed their falling out on the removal of EV subsidies—a blow to Musk’s Tesla business. Trump suggests this financial hit is the real reason for Musk’s opposition.
Trump also accused Musk of seeking undue influence by nominating his friend, Jared Isaacman, to lead NASA, a move Trump deemed inappropriate due to Musk’s space industry ties.
Musk fired back on X, saying the U.S. has become a one-party system and that the America Party was created to restore public freedom. Still, Trump appears unfazed by Musk’s threats.
