Donald Trump goes on huge rant about ‘train wreck’ Elon Musk but everyone’s saying the same thing
Donald Trump has unleashed a fiery social media rant targeting Elon Musk, calling the billionaire a “train wreck” and accusing him of going “off the rails.”
The 79-year-old president took to Truth Social on July 6 to post a lengthy message criticizing Musk, 54, amid their ongoing public fallout. Their relationship began to sour after Musk stepped down as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in May, sparking tensions.
Recently, Musk condemned Trump’s “big beautiful bill” as a “disgusting abomination” and even threatened to fire politicians who supported it. He also announced plans to launch a new political group, the “America Party,” aiming to challenge both Republicans and Democrats.
Trump appeared rattled by Musk’s political move, writing that third parties only bring “DISRUPTION & CHAOS” and aren’t viable in the U.S. He claimed the country already has enough of that from the “Radical Left Democrats.”
Trump praised Republicans as a “smooth-running machine” and highlighted that his bill removed federal EV mandates, allowing people to choose their preferred vehicle types.
He also accused Musk of misleading him, claiming the Tesla CEO once had no issues with ending the EV mandate and had asked to appoint a Democrat friend to lead NASA—something Trump found inappropriate due to Musk’s space industry ties.
Many social media users were stunned by Trump’s emotional post, comparing it to a teenage breakup rant. Some criticized the immaturity of the exchange, while others mocked the public feud as one of the messiest ever.
