Donald Trump leaks private texts with NATO chief and people spot very alarming threat directed at Europe

Donald Trump has sparked controversy by posting a private text message from NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Truth Social, leaving many stunned by its content about Europe.

The U.S. President shared a screenshot of the message on June 24, which included high praise from Rutte. A NATO official confirmed its authenticity to The Financial Times.

In the message, Rutte called Trump “extraordinary” and praised his actions in Iran, saying he would achieve what no American president had in decades.

The message coincides with a NATO summit in the Netherlands, where leaders are aiming to commit to a new defense spending target of 5% of GDP. Rutte referenced this in the text, saying, “We’ve got them all signed onto 5 percent!”

Rutte also commended Trump for his military action in Iran, where the U.S. struck nuclear sites over the weekend. Iran has since retaliated by targeting American bases in Iraq and Qatar.

However, the most controversial part of the message reads: “Europe is going to pay in a BIG way, as they should, and it will be your win,” which has raised eyebrows and caused online backlash.

Critics on social media questioned Rutte’s wording and intent, with some calling the tone overly flattering and others accusing him of betraying European interests. NATO has not issued a public response yet.
