Michelle Obama explains why she’s ‘so glad’ she and Barack didn’t have a son
Michelle Obama recently shared why she’s glad she and Barack never had a son, joking that a boy would’ve turned out just like his dad. Speaking on her podcast IMO with her brother Craig Robinson, she responded to a suggestion that the Obamas “should have thrown a boy in the mix” by saying, “I’m so glad I didn’t have a boy, because he would have been a Barack Obama.” Her brother joked that Michelle simply “borrowed” his two sons instead. Michelle also reflected on how proud she is of her daughters, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 24, and how they’ve grown since leaving the White House in 2017.
Amid recent speculation about a possible divorce, Michelle shut down rumors by posting a throwback family photo on Instagram for Father’s Day, praising Barack for always being there despite the pressures he faced. In another podcast appearance, she firmly denied the gossip, saying that if there were problems in their marriage, the public would know because she’s open and not one to suffer in silence. Although the Obamas left the White House years ago, public interest in their family life clearly continues.
