Trump issues furious response after judge said
Donald Trump lashed out on Truth Social after a federal judge ruled that his deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles without the consent of California Governor Gavin Newsom was illegal. Trump had sent the troops during protests and riots related to ICE operations, claiming it was necessary to prevent LA from “burning down.” However, US District Judge Charles Breyer determined Trump violated congressional law by bypassing the governor’s authority and ordered control of the National Guard be returned to Newsom immediately.
In response, Trump criticized both the Biden administration and Governor Newsom, accusing them of allowing millions of undocumented immigrants into the U.S., which he claimed was harming public services and security. He called his actions part of a broader effort he termed “Remigration” and praised ICE officers for their work under threats and harassment. Trump insisted that his intervention saved Los Angeles from disaster and said Newsom should be grateful instead of critical, claiming LA would have been in ruins without his decision to send in the troops.
