The Beach Boys singer Brian Wilson

Brian Wilson, co-founder of The Beach Boys, has passed away at the age of 82, his family confirmed in a heartfelt statement on his official website. The message expressed the family’s deep grief and asked for privacy, stating: “We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world. Love & Mercy.”

Wilson was a key figure in shaping the sound of The Beach Boys, forming the group in the 1960s with his brothers Dennis and Carl, cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. Known for their timeless hits, the band’s most celebrated work is the 1966 album Pet Sounds, which Wilson largely wrote and produced himself. Born in Inglewood, California in 1942, Wilson showed a passion for music from a young age and was destined for a musical career. His contributions to the world of music, especially through his innovative work with The Beach Boys, have left an enduring legacy.
