Prince Harry revealed Meghan Markle’s two-word remark
Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, released in January 2023, offered revealing insights about his life and relationships within the Royal Family. One notable moment was when Meghan Markle was asked to apologise to Kate Middleton for a comment made in 2018 ahead of their wedding. Meghan had allegedly said Kate must be experiencing “baby brain” after she forgot something minor, leading Kate to rebuke Meghan, stating they weren’t close enough for such a remark. Harry wrote that William sided with Kate, telling Meghan, “It’s not what’s done here in Britain.” Meghan asked him to stop pointing his finger at her and explained she never meant to upset Kate.
Harry described the incident as confusing to Meghan, who felt she was speaking as she would to her friends. He shared how, after some tension, the four eventually hugged, though somewhat awkwardly. The memoir also revealed another disagreement regarding Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress for the wedding, which had left Meghan in tears on the floor. Harry noted that Kate later apologised with flowers and a note.
