Fox News solidified its dominance, marking its seventh consecutive year as the top cable network in primetime and total day. CEO Suzanne Scott celebrated the achievement, stating, “2022 was a testament to our unmatched skill in delivering innovative news and opinion programming.” The network also maintained its 21-year streak as the highest-rated cable news network.
In a surprising turn, Fox News attracted the most politically diverse audience in cable news, drawing Democrats, Independents, and Republicans. Nielsen/MRI Fusion data revealed Fox News achieved its second-highest share of the cable news audience with 53% in the 25-54 demographic during total day, and 55% in primetime total viewers.
Fox News dominated the ratings, claiming the top 13 out of 15 programs in cable news, including ‘The Five,’ which made history as the most-watched non-primetime cable program of the year. The network’s overall success continued, with impressive gains in total day viewership.
